If a lion ever reaches you, the odds of your survival are small. He may weightlifting’s 450 pounds, he may not even be wounded: yet when he comes, his charge will be low and fast, and he may bring friends with him.

Lion hunting in Botswana is conducted by tracking. Baiting is not legal and relying on a chance sighting is not productive. You hunt lions by finding tracks, determining the sex and the size, and then following the tracks of the big mate.

One of the Major attractions of duck hunting is its variety; not only in the many species of ducks available but also in the many types of habitat that can be hunted. With that in mind, Grits hunts from a marsh blind with Dick Kuchera for the October season opener in South Dakota, and then travels to New York state where he guns a tree lined pond with George Bednar. In December, in Mississippi, Grits enjoys a wide variety of duck hunting situations; boat blinds on the Mississippi River with Jimmy Presswood; rice fields with Doug Mauldin; flooded bean fields with Catfish Flautt; plus pop-up shooting from mummy boats with Fred Fortier. Along the way, Grits provides shooting tips and discusses shotguns, gauges, chokes, shot size, decoy placement, and types of duck calls. In addition, 3 time Mississippi State duck calling champion, Jerry Brocato, demonstrates his techniques for the hail call, comeback call, feeding call, and lonesome hen call, and tells when to use each.

With the assistance of Gordon Cundill and professional hunters Jeff Ranm and Ronnie Blackbeard of Hunters Africa, Capstick takes Wilson on a Safari in three distinct ecological areas of Botswana: the Chobe River, The Okavango Delta, and the Kalahari Desert.

I never dreamed that this would be Peter Capstick's last Safari, but now I realize Peter must have thought so, which explains the sudden urgency of his desire to embark on a leopard safari in order to complete the Big 5 on video.   As you will see, a leopard safari is much more than hunting leopard... especially with with Peter Capstick in camp!

Safari through British Columbia starting with a hunt for Canada Moose in Northern B.C. with Stone Mountain Safaris, Ken Wilson packs into moose country with his guide, Marty Kjos, and they share several campfires before bagging a big Bull. Then Ken reviews the film of Tom Carmody's successful Stone Sheep hunt with outfitter Gary Moore where Tom picks out the biggest Ram in a group of six and rolls it down a shale mountainside with one shot. Finally, Ken flies into Prince George and travels to the southern end of the Finley Mountains in Central B.C. where he packs in for a Stone Sheep and Mountain Goat hunt with outfitter-guide Charlie Stricker. They hunt Goat, first, and pass up a 10" Nanny before dropping a 9' Billy in a spectacular sequence. Then they backpack for Sheep and look over a lot of Rams before shooting one "on top of the world."

Kampala, Equator Monument, Lake Mburo National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park (Isha and the Kazinga Channel), Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with a hike to see Mountain Gorillas (featuring close-up footage of big Silverbacks), and Murchison Falls. 

Join PH Keith Charters and client Ken Wilson on a safari organized and outfitted by Christian Weth’s Uganda Wildlife Safaris in the Aswa-Lolim Concession, they successfully hunt Nile Buffalo and Uganda Kob. And in the Kafu River Basin, they connect on East African Situnga, Nile Bushbuck and East African Bush Duiker.

As you will see, the island of Newfoundland is home to the world's largest concentration of Eastern Canada Moose and Woodland Caribou. Hunting western Newfoundland with Don and Rod Stowe of Mobile Outfitters and their staff, three hunters (Johnny Burke, Lad Shunneson, and Ken Wilson) each take excellent specimens of Woodland Caribou in the bogs near Deer Lake. Then Shunneson, Wilson, and Steve McManus helicopter into Mobile Outfitters' remote tent camp for the moose hunt of a lifetime with each looking over numerous bulls before taking high-scoring trophies.
