In the mid-19th century, while the "transportation" of prisoners of Mother England to Australia was coming to an end, the transportation of eight deer species was in full-swing. As a result, 21st century hunters can hunt all eight species in Australia: Hog Deer, Sambar, Javan Rusa, Moluccan Rusa, Wapiti, Red Stag, Chital and Fallow. Be a part of the adventure as Ken Wilson and Lad Shunneson team up with the McCormicks (Mick, Michael and Sheryl) of Australian South Pacific Safaris to hunt the provinces of Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania for all eight species of deer.

Wilson hunts Sika Deer with famous Kiwi hunter Murray Cameron. South Island: Visit beautiful Christchurch, Queenstown, Lake Wanaka, the Southern Alps & the Southland. Hunt for Tahr, Chamois, Red Stag, Fallow Deer, & Arapawa Ram.

In the steep mountains overlooking the Adriatic Sea and the resort town of Makarska, Croatia, Ken Wilson and Tom Montgomery each shoot Balkan Chamois in early November followed by a brief tour of historic Dubrovnik. In Romania, Wilson and Montgomery each shoot Carpathian Chamois in the snowy mountains of Central Romania followed by brief tours of “Count Dracula’s Castle” and the museum that displays many of the hunting trophies of infamous dictator Nicolae Ceausecu. Burkhard Zietlow of Jagdkontor Hunting Adventures, Germany, arranged the hunts and was the tour guide for Croatia and Romania. He also shared video duties with Gary Goodgame. Then Wilson joins Ray Young as they hunt pure Kri-Kri Ibex on two islands in Greece: Atalanti Island northwest of Athens and Sapienza Island off the southwest coast of the Peloponnese Peninsula near historic Methoni Castle. The hunts takes place during the olive harvest month of November, and a brief visit to ancient Olympia is included.

In Eastern Europe (Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Yugoslavia) the commonly hunted animals are Red Stag, Fallow Stag, Roe Buck, Mouflon Ram, Wild Boar and Chamois. Hunters Ken Wilson and Lad Shunneson both take excellent trophies of each species on-camera in a series of exciting sequences laced with some of the travel and adventure that await hunters experiencing Eastern Europe and its intriguing history and long hunting tradition.

England has a long and illustrious history of protecting indigenous and introduced game animals in the wild and on estates. Sightseeing tours are important and interesting asides to the hunting adventure.In early winter, join Ken Wilson and family as they tour London and beautiful southeast England before Ken hunts Red Stag, Chinese Water Deer, Manchurian/Formosan Sika, and Fallow Deer with James Ellis and Derek Bond. Then, in late summer, join Lad Shunneson as he hunts the two most prolific deer species in England, the introduced Reeves Muntjac with James Ellis and the indigenous Roe Buck with Richard Bond.

To capture the excitement, Rick Morgan videotaped Ken and Lorraine Wilson hunting in the Summer (with Eduardo F. deAraoz of CAZATUR/MUNDICAZA) and Wayne Pocius hunting in the Fall (with CAZATUR/MUNDICAZA, CAZASPAIN, and HUNT TRIP) so you can experience the hunting of Ronda Ibex, Southeastern Ibex, Gredos Ibex, Red Stag, Mouflon Sheep and Pyrenean Chamois. You will also see a Monteria (driven hunt for Stag and Boar) and glimpses of San Sebastian, Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, Marbella, Ronda, and Granada, plus the famous Running of the Bulls at Pamplona.

Baku, Azerbaijan

These extreme hunts each start with tours of fascinating Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan with over 2,000,000 people. Baku is famous for its access to oil, its seaport on the Caspian Sea, and its Old City and unbridled new development. It has been known was the “Paris of Caucasus” and the “Gates to the Ancient East.”

Ken and Ryan Wilson travel and hunt Iran on a shikar organized by Esrafil Shafiezadeh’s JASMIN SAFARIS. In the mountains east of Tehran, Ken is guided to a gold medal Red Sheep by guides Hassan and Yaghoub. Northeast of Esfahan, Ken succeeds with an Esfahan Mouflon, guided by Ghasem and game scout, Reza. West of Kerman, Ghasem and head game scout, Muhammed, guide Ken to a gold medal Kerman Sheep. And near the Caspian Sea, Ali guides both Ken and Ryan to gold medal Eurasian Wild Boars As the Wilsons travel Iran with tour coordinator, Jahann, you will see footage of Tehran, Esfahan, Yazd and the Caspian Sea.
