Jim divides the Elk hunting season into these parts: the early season (which can be divided into the pre-bugle and bugle seasons), the transition season, and the late season. This video is about how to hunt elk during the early season when the bulls are bugling.
The setting for this highly instructional video is the Selway Wilderness of Idaho (“The Amazon of the North”) Hunting both on his own and with out-fitter Ken Smith, Jim succeeds in taking and old 6x6 bull on camera in mid-bugle. But the actual trigger squeeze is only a small part of the total experience.
